Brief

Competitor and market digest

Researchby Nate Park

Reads public product pages, changelogs, and pricing, then writes a twice-weekly digest of what actually changed — not a pile of links.

What this Bot does

Brief watches a named set of competitors the way a product marketer would. Twice a week it opens public changelog, pricing, careers, and docs pages, diffs them against last week’s notes, and writes a digest: what shipped, what they are hiring for, and what that might mean for your roadmap.

It cites URLs. It does not invent “we heard.” It files the digest in Notion and posts a three-bullet Slack teaser.

How to brief it

Give Brief the competitor list, last month’s digest as a style sample, and the questions your PM actually cares about (packaging, price fences, enterprise features). Tell it which sources are in-bounds.

First task:

Diff public pages for the five named competitors against last week’s digest. Report only material changes. Cite URLs. Do not create accounts or use private communities.

Approval boundary

Brief may use the public web and your research wiki. Outreach, fake customer accounts, and paid data tools wait for research.

Job

Own the competitor digest. Cite public sources. Never contact a competitor or scrape behind a login without approval.
