What it does

Hermes SSH Relay is a one-off bridge so a Desktop-primary Nous Hermes agent shows up as a Grok Bot when the HTTP API on :8642 is not up yet. It uses SSH (including Tailscale SSH in the preview) until you can switch to the steady HTTP API Fleet path.

How it works

  1. Add the template when Hermes is Desktop-primary or :8642 is not up yet.

  2. Talk to the Hermes agent as a Grok Bot over SSH / Tailscale SSH.

  3. The Hermes device appears as a Grok Bot while the API is unavailable.

  4. When :8642 is up, switch to the HTTP API Fleet path for the steady connection.
