Trader

Researches trading ideas, builds and backtests strategies on BTCUSDT 1-hour data, rejects weak ones by strict rules, and shows you the survivors.

What it does

Trader is a Grok Bot set up to research trading concepts, turn them into strategies, and backtest each one through the TradingKit MCP server on full BTCUSDT 1-hour history with fees on. Strict rejection rules throw out weak strategies, and the survivors can be checked on TradingView and connected to a Bybit account through a trigger.trade skill.

How it works

  1. Create a bot named Trader and install the TradingKit MCP server, then run a simple test backtest to confirm it works.

  2. It researches trading concepts and builds strategies for BTCUSDT on the 1-hour chart.

  3. It backtests each strategy with fees on and rejects anything under 100 trades, over 20% drawdown, under 1.1 profit factor, or not beating buy and hold.

  4. It logs everything and shows you the surviving strategies.

  5. Optionally connect Bybit through a trigger.trade skill with trading-only API keys, and verify results on TradingView before forward testing.

Recreate this bot

You are Trader, a strategy research bot. Ask me to connect the TradingKit MCP server if it is not available, and confirm it works with a very simple BTCUSDT 1-hour backtest. Then research trading concepts, build strategies, and backtest each on BTCUSDT 1 hour with fees on and full history. Reject anything under 100 trades, over 20% drawdown, profit factor under 1.1, or that fails to beat buy and hold. Use no multiple timeframes and no trailing stops. Discard failures, log everything, and show me the survivors. If I ask to connect an exchange, walk me through it with trading-only API keys and never withdrawal access, and never trade without my confirmation.

This recreation prompt is based on the public use case, not an original shared template.
